doe wool production

Hi,
I just got some satin angoras this year and I was wondering how much wool production to expect from does. I've been breeding them so I don't expect a lot but I've been trying to remember what my english angoras did. It seems to me that they still produced some wool. I won't breed them this winter so I'll see how they do. I've also heard that they produce less wool as they age so when do they start to produce less? Thanks, Tracy

I get anywhere from 4 to 5 oz, from my Satins. Of course like you said if they are bred they will pull it all out for nests! Satins don't really produce less wool as much as it is lighter than other Angora wools. The structure is such as it is, I want to say finer but that is not the right word really. Even though you may get the volumn the weight is less. Is that clear as mud?? LOL
What colors do you have?

Hi

I have a part bred satin angora, looks fully like a black satin angora, he is 1 and i would like a doe for him. I proberly will not breed them however, it could be possible.

I was wondering if you know were I can get a pure bred angora. I really do not mind what colour I have or the age.
